18 Jun Lifestyle in home newborn portraits with big sister
Going to my client’s homes to photograph their newborns requires me to bring a car full of equipment and props so that I’m prepared for any situation I end up in. I have no idea beforehand what the light in their home will be like, how much space they have, what style their home is, etc. I show up and look around and see what I have to work with.
The reason I love doing it this way is because of the treasures that I find. Will you just look at this trunk? This was at my client’s home and has been passed down for generations. It is absolutely beautiful and the most perfect prop possible for their newborn photos. Not only does it look cool, but it’s a family heirloom so it has deep personal meaning to them. It is perfect.
That was so great that I didn’t think I needed any other wonderful surprises, but then we went in their room for family photos and they have the most colorful, beautiful bed for us to use. It was amazing. I ended the shoot excited for me because I hit the jackpot, but also excited for them because they are getting personalized images they’ll have for a lifetime.
