06 Aug Summer Mocktail Recipes for pregnant Women
Being pregnant in the Summer is enough of a trial without also feeling left out at parties. So, we’ve come up with some easy, low sugar mocktails you can enjoy at any BBQ or party you go to for the rest of the Summer.
Before we get into the mocktail recipes themselves, you’ll need to know how to make a low sugar version of Sweet n Sour/Margarita Mix. If you aren’t worried about sugar content, you can just buy some premade Sweet n Sour at your local grocery store.
Low Sugar Margarita Mix:
2 parts real lime juice
1 part real lemon juice
Agave nectar to taste
Most drinks will require a 3 ounce pour of Margarita mix, so 2 ounces of lime juice, 1 ounce of lemon juice and a splash of agave nectar.
Virgin Watermelon Margarita:
To make this beauty, you’ll need:
1 small seedless watermelon, cut into small chunks
3 ounces low sugar Margarita Mix
1 ounce of sparkling water
Directions:
Blend enough watermelon chunks to make 2 ounces of puree. Add a splash of water if the puree is too thick.
In a mixing glass, shake 3 ounces of Margarita mix and 2 ounces of watermelon puree.
Pour your mixture into a glass filled with ice and add a splash of sparking water.
Moscow Mule Mocktail:
What you’ll need:
4 ounces of Ginger Beer
3 ounces of real lime juice or low sugar Margarita Mix
1 ounce of sparkling water
Any extra flavor you want
Directions:
Fill copper mug with ice.
Add all ingredients and stir together.
Add any extra flavor you want.
Garnish with lime and enjoy!
Virgin Mojito:
Ingredients:
10-12 Mint leaves
3 ounces lime juice
Agave nectar to taste
1 ounce of sparkling water
Any extra flavor you want
Directions:
Mix all ingredients into a glass with ice.
Virgin Ruby Red Paloma:
Stuff you’ll need:
3 ounces of ruby red grapefruit juice
2 ounces of low sugar Margarita Mix
1 ounce of sparkling water
Directions:
Shake ruby red grapefruit and margarita mix together.
Pour in a glass over ice.
Add a splash of sparkling water.
Garnish with lemon wheel.
