Toddler Birthday Portraits with the Family

We were running late, running out of gas and driving into the middle of nowhere with no cell service and no gas stations anywhere near us.  My best friend just happens to have family that owns wheat fields outside of Spokane that they were willing to let us use for our photo shoot.  We’ve never been out there before so we met up with her cousin and followed her to the literal middle of nowhere.  We were so frantic because the sun was setting that we forgot we were almost out of gas.

As we were driving and driving and driving, we started to panic a little bit since we didn’t know how far we were going.  We tried to call her cousin but didn’t have any cell service.  I can’t tell you the level of anxiety in our car.

Her cousin finally pulled off the road to tell us directions the rest of the way.  We still needed to drive a few more miles.  Eek.

There really weren’t any gas stations nearby, but her cousin has gas on their property for the tractors and other equipment.  Thank God!

We got through our photo shoot before the sun went all the way down and then followed her cousin to the gas pumps.  What a night!
